ELA IONESCU

She plays her first leading role as Maria in Cobileanski’s first feature film The Unsaved.

Born in Piatra Neamt, Ela Ionescu is a graduate of The National University of Theatre and Film "I.L. Caragiale". Her credits include Second Hand directed by Dan Pita, Margo directed by Ioan Carmazan, short films and television.

As a theatre actress she played in a wide range of classical and contemporary plays from Chekhov’s Pescarusul/The Seagull to the stage-adaptation of Horace McCoy ‘s novel Si caii se impusca, nu-i asa?/They Shoot Horses, Don't They?

She plays her first leading role as Maria in Cobileanski’s first feature film The Unsaved for which she was nominated as best supporting actress at the Gopo Awards 2014 in Romania.
