Dan Chisu was born in 1955 in Braila. He was one of the founding members of DaKINO International Film Festival. The oldest film festival in Romania held every year in Bucharest since 1991.
He made a series of documentaries for television: Ocolul pamantului in 80 de zile/Around the World in 80 Days (2004), Realitatea unui mit - Samani Peruani /Reality of a Myth - Peruvian Shamans, Orasele pierdute ale incasilor/The Lost Cities of the Incas (2007), Gustul Pamantului in 80 de mirodenii/The Earth's Taste in 80 Spices (2008). He produced and starred in a TV Show called "I Eat, Therefore I Am" witch was broadcast four years on a national television.
In 2010 he made his debut as director, screenwriter and producer with the feature film WebSiteStory followed in 2011 by Ursul/The Bear.
For his latest film Déjà Vu he was a screenwriter, director, cameraman, actor and producer.
