ALEXANDRU PAPADOPOL

ALEXANDRU PAPADOPOL is a very popular actor in Romanian TV series, he has a long list of screen credits to his name.

Alexandru Papadopol was born in Ramnicu-Valcea in 1975. He studied law before graduating in acting from The National University of Theatre and Film "I.L. Caragiale", in 2002, and started his cinema career together with the New Wave directors Cristi Puiu (in Stuff and Dough) and Cristian Mungiu (in Occident). During his university studies, he was twice selected for the Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes Film Festival and he was awarded Best Actor at the Thessaloniki Film Festival for his performance in Cristi Puiu’s Stuff and Dough, in 2001.

A very popular actor in Romanian TV series, he has a long list of screen credits to his name: Tales from the Golden Age by Cristian Mungiu, When Evening Falls on Bucharest or Metabolism by Corneliu Porumboiu and Love Building by Iulia Rugina. He is a producer at Actoriedefilm.ro (Love Building, Another Love Building, The Lottery Tickets).

Alexandru is also a very active stage actor, and part of the repertory at the Odeon Theatre in Bucharest.
