The 11th Romanian Film Festival in London

BREAKING NEW GROUND

Curzon Soho, 13 - 16 November 2014

The Festival showcases an extraordinary line-up of new and exciting films. Special guests from Romania will be attending selected screenings and connected events, such as Q&A discussions, receptions, and networking dinners with industry representatives.

RFF has been notably successful in promoting new Romanian directors, and acquainting the public with classics of the Romanian cinema, so it offers a circle of strongly motivated audiences. There is a growing interest in Romanian cinema in the UK, and we expect attendance by a great number of film lovers, both cinema aficionados and people who have discovered the Romanian New Wave in the past few years.

Our aim is to encourage the UK audience to discover and appreciate the essence of Romanian identity. The goals and working methods of the Romanian Film Festival are about presenting to the world some of the best examples of Romanian culture, in the hope that the audience will feel the same way as we do about the special qualities of Romania and its people.

2014, the year of our 11 year anniversary, signals a moment of unique importance for the Romanian communities in Britain. Back in 2003 our task was to amplify the voice of the Romanian community in the English speaking capital, to create a focal point for contemporary Romanian culture, and to join forces with the network of cultural exhibits in London. 11 years on, as an integral part of our community abroad, we now help in building the cultural infrastructure of the rapidly growing diaspora, which is experiencing changes with consequences for the culture both here and at home.

Widely viewed as a celebration of Romania and its spirit, the RFF is an independent, not-for-profit enterprise, functioning with the help of grants and sponsorship from numerous friends and supporters. It is organised by Profusion International Creative Consultancy, in partnership with The National Centre of Cinematography in Romania and Curzon Cinemas.
