The prestigious Locarno Film Festival will present two new Romanian full feature films: When Evening Falls on Bucharest, or Metabolism (Când se lasă seara peste Bucureşti sau Metabolism) by Corneliu Porumboiu, and Roxanne by Valentin Hotea.

Paul is a young director about to make his first film. During the filming, he has an affair with Alina, an actress in a secondary role. The next day is Alina’s last on the set. The film and reality begin to overlap and something unexpected happens during the filming.
When Evening Falls on Bucharest, or Metabolism is Corneliu Porumboiu’s third feature film.

Bucharest, 2009. Twenty years after Romanian Revolution, Tavi Ionescu, a nice but quite immature guy for his late 30s finds out from his Securitate (Secret Police) file that he could be the father of a son he didn’t know about. Starting his own secret investigation, Tavi is caught by a complicated past that now comes to reveal ugly hidden truths, messing up his life and the lives of the people close to him. For the first time in his life, Tavi is forced to take really mature decisions. Roxanne is Valentin Hotea’s first feature film.
