Cosmina Stratan and Cristina Flutur in Beyond the Hills

BUENOS AIRES – Cristian Mungiu’s Beyond the Hills, which is Romania's entry for the foreign language film section for the Oscars, picked up the Golden Astor for Best Film at the Mar del Plata International Film Fest, which screened over 300 films.

Organized by the Argentine Film Institute (INCAA), the 27th edition of the fest brought over 100,000 people to the theatres, and premiered over 50 Argentine films. The only A class festival in South America  also held Latin American and Argentine competitions.

Beyond the Hills was the opening film of the Romanian Film Festival in London, 9th edition. It was screened in front of a full house on the evening of 22 November 2012, and was followed by a Q&A with actresses Cosmina Stratan and Cristina Flutur, winners of the award for best actress at Cannes Film Festival, 2012.
